May 15-16, 2015 ~ Delray Beach, FL

deck84Don’t miss LWV Florida’s Best Convention EVER!

Join influential citizens and policymakers from all across Florida as they gather this year in beautiful DELRAY BEACH on May 15th and 16th.

The fun begins Friday at NOON with registration and a light lunch as you prepare to jump into fast moving and skill building workshops, followed by the first plenary, which start promptly at 2pm. Later, wear your dressy evening beach bling to a one hour cocktails and drinks mixer on the terrace and listen to the sounds the steel drum band while looking out over the ocean. Delray-BeachImmediately following will be a fabulous surprise-filled evening program and delicious dinner. Saturday will be a day chock full of important discussions and charting the course for the issues (and amendments?) on which the League will act. Then, on Saturday evening, it is time to enjoy a casual gathering at a local restaurant and meet up with old friends while making new ones. There will be fascinating speakers during and after a buffet dinner.

Pam Goodman and Deirdre Macnab welcome you to Convention.

Pam Goodman and Deirdre Macnab welcome you to Convention.

During the day you will meet, learn and contribute your ideas and vote to determine the issues that the League will work on and how we will continue to have the enormous positive impact on our state that we’ve made.

This is your chance to bring forward your ideas, and to listen to others and decide whether we should sign or not.

You won’t want to miss it!

Council of Leaders

Held biennially during even-numbered years, Council of Leaders is a weekend-long League conference for local League leaders from all across Florida. Participants have the opportunity to receive leadership training from state Board members, local elected officials and leadership experts, as well as approve the budget for the coming fiscal year. Local League Board members are encouraged to attend Council in order to keep current with organizational changes in the state League, participate in key decision-making for the coming year, hone their leadership skills in workshops, and stay in touch with other local League leaders.

LWVF’s most recent Council of Leaders took place on April 11, 2014 in Tallahassee, Florida.
